I read a quote this morning that made me laugh out loud.

Blogging isn’t new and it isn’t as flashy as say iPads in the classroom, but it is a very valuable activity for students, teachers, and school leaders.

Nine years ago, I read about blogging and wanted to try it with my class. I didn't know a platform that was acceptable for classroom situations, so I emailed our county technology director, Barry Pace, to ask about one. He said he wasn't sure what I was talking about, to let him research it.

About a month later he got back to me and told me to use a site that turned out to be awful. I bought a subscription to Typepad.com and we called our classroom blog "9 and 3/4", after the Harry Potter scene.

Nine years later, look how blogging has boomed and changed our world.
