World History Course Syllabus, otherwise known as What We Do

 

This is a rough outline of the coursework we will be covering in both Standard World History and Honors World History. Please be flexible in your expectations, as student needs and unforeseen issues like weather may force some changes in the work flow of the semester.  Don't stress about the small stuff!

 

 

Unit 1 - Overview, Basic Concepts, Prehistory (1+ Week)
Unit 2 - Ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt (1+ week)
Unit 3 - Ancient India and China (2 Weeks)
Unit 4 - Ancient Greece and Rome (2 Weeks)
Unit 5 - The Early Middle Ages, 500 - 1000 CE (2 Weeks)
Unit 6 - The Late Middle Ages, 1000 - 1500 CE (1 Week)
Unit 7 - 1500s and 1600s, Early Modern World (1 Week)
Unit 8 - 1700s, Enlightenment and Revolution (2 Weeks)
Unit 9 - 1800s, Industrial Revolution & Imperialism (2 Weeks)
Unit 10 - 1900 - 1950, World at War (2 Weeks)
Unit 11 - 1950 - Present, Cold War & Space Age (1+ Weeks)
Unit 12 - Current Issues, A Changing World Order (1+ Weeks)

Notebook - Keep current on all Notes, Maps, Vocabulary/People Lists
